I'm finally settled into my new flat in London. To say that it is adequate would be an understatement. Living in Langdale probably should have spoiled me quite a bit and the manor certainly outshines my current residence in size and grandeur, but I find this place much more inviting and livable. It is very open, with the biggest room being the sitting room and the second biggest my sleeping quarters, which actually has a balcony off of it. I've already enjoyed the nighttime view more than once and if it weren't for the city lights it would be the perfect location to stargaze. There are two bedrooms total, but I've no clue would to use the second bedroom for. I don't need it currently and hardly have enough possessions to fill the place up nicely. The kitchen is very clean and sharp looking. Modern is the word I'm looking for, I believe. I was told that some may consider it a dream kitchen, but as I have no culinary skills at the moment I fail to see that perk.
It does feel very empty because I haven't had the proper amount of time to go furniture shopping. I left the bulk of the antiques at Langdale and gave the rest to my Aunt Gloria, who has scattered them throughout her lovely home (which is even larger than Langdale, by the way). The rest of the furniture and decor was left for whoever purchases it. I believe there is a offer that may seriously go through by the end of the week. That will be a load off of my mind and my to-do list. I actually have a meeting scheduled with the potential buyer for Friday evening. As long as he is willing to pay the price I want for it, I really don't see why there should be an issue. Money wouldn't really be a problem if I weren't giving the majority of it away to a worthy cause.
I think the first item I want to purchase is a very sturdy and large bookcase. Probably something to take up at least one of the smaller walls in the sitting room. I do have quite an assortment of literature and should show it off. Not that many people need reminders about how smart I am, but all the same it will add a bit of character. It feels odd to have an entire flat to customize to my liking and I'm sure some of it will look plain silly once I'm through. After all, I am no decorator. If anyone has suggestions as to where I can begin looking for furniture, that would be quite helpful.
Beyond writing about my new flat, I don't have much else. to talk about. I hope anyone who can read this is doing well.

I have never been the type of person to give in to trends, but I keep hearing things about these journals at the Ministry and I'm afraid my curiosity managed to get the best of me. Here I am, writing in it and wondering who is able to read what I have written and whose writing I am able to read.
Moving beyond that...I have been extraordinarily busy recently. My occupation, as interesting as it is, takes up nearly most of my time. Any free moment I have is spent sleeping. I expect that it will calm down soon and I look forward to when it does. I have many personal matters to attend to. The house elves have been busy packing up as much of the manor as possible as well as going through things and sending them off to relatives who care far more about the possessions than I ever could. My Aunt Gloria will be receiving the bulk of my mother's belongings. I think I will deliver them in person because it has been far too long since I have visited.
I suppose I should start looking for a new place to live. Close to the Ministry, of course. I think this will help with my lack of free time.
